I bought this several years ago, and rode it for awhile, but had to have thumb reconstruction on both hands, so can't use a clutch and hand brake anymore. The bike run drive and stops like the day I bought it. It is in awesome condition with some scratches. I bought this 250R in 1985 and used it very little and took good care of it. The three-wheeler conveys on a bill of sale only.Here is my original 1985 Honda 250R ATC 3 wheeler in original condition with low hours. Photos taken during the refurbishment can be viewed in the gallery. The driveline is said to have been overhauled. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a five-speed transmission with a reverse gear, an automatic clutch, and shaft drive. The battery was replaced in preparation for sale. Equipment includes CDI ignition, a Keihin carburetor, a snorkel air intake, both electric and pull starters, and an exhaust system with a heat shield that exits under the rear bodywork. The air-cooled 246cc OHC four-stroke single is said to have been overhauled under current ownership and was rated at 18 horsepower when new. The three-wheeler did not come equipped with an odometer or other instrumentation, therefore true mileage is unknown. A keyed ignition sits in a dash that also contains reverse and neutral indicator lights. The chrome handlebar features lighting and start switches on the left, a thumb throttle on the right, and replacement brake cables. Braking is supplied by a drum on the front wheel and another on the rear axle, both of which were fitted with replacement shoes. Suspension consists of a leading-axle fork and a monoshock. Wheel spacers have been fitted to the rear axle. Red-painted replacement steel wheels were fitted with replacement bearings and wear 23×10-10″ Kenda Bear Claw tires. The seller notes that the body hardware was re-plated in gold zinc. Equipment includes a gray vinyl solo seat, a skid plate, a toolbox in the rear bodywork, a trailer ball mount, a gray headlight guard, front and rear cargo racks, a headlight and a taillight, and front and rear mudflaps. ![]() The fuel tank was repainted in red while the fenders were replaced and white, black, and gray custom graphics were applied. This ATC 250ES Big Red is offered at no reserve by the selling dealer in Minnesota with refurbishment photos and a bill of sale. Shifting is via a five-speed semi-automatic transmission featuring reverse and shaft drive, and additional features include a gray solo seat, CDI ignition, a skid plate, a trailer hitch ball mount, a toolbox, trail lighting, both electric and pull starters, front and rear cargo racks, and 10″ wheels. Work included repainting the fuel tank, replacing the fenders, powder-coating the frame, overhauling the 246cc four-stroke single, and re-plating various parts. This 1985 Honda ATC 250ES Big Red was acquired by the selling dealer in January 2022, reportedly from its second owner, and was subsequently refurbished in a project that was completed in July 2022.
